Genevieve was a registered nurse for 30 years.  She spent most of those years on the floor serving the ill and touching lives.  Late in her career she took the knowledge and wisdom gained through her years of nursing and put it to good use as a Nursing Instructor for  Mercy's Nursing School.  Genevieve taught over 400 nurses prior to retiring in 1978.  Many of these nurses reflect on her impact on their lives.  Debbie Ablegan said " It was Jimmy who inspired me to become and nurse and I thank her for who I am today."

Genevieve first became a grandmother when Jerry had his first daughter Colleen Marie Curran.  Jerry now has four daughters, Colleen (Curran) Goetz, Erin (Curran) Davis, Kerry (Curran) Nissen, and Amy (Curran) Adamski.

Genevieve's other sons gave her the joy of being a grandmother.  Jack and Peggy had Shaun (Casey) Curran and Brenda Curran.   Pat and Joan had Christopher Curran.

Genevieve retired in 1978 after teaching over 400 student nurses.  She spent most of her time enjoying her friends and family while she was healthy.
